What will your mission be?
As a Technical Lead/ Senior Engineer for Mechanical equipment, you will be responsible for providing technical input to a wide range of offshore wind projects around the world, as well as lead and manage the mechanical discipline engineering team.
Main Responsabilities:
When being part of a multidisciplinary project team, you will take the lead on the Mechanical Equipment Discipline related activities, such as:
- Equipment definition and selection ensuring all technical, safety and legal requirements.
- Preparation of technical specifications, material requisitions and documents for purchase orders.
- Technical analysis of vendor offers issuing the technical bid evaluation for procuring the adequate equipment.
- Technical management of vendors, its design and technical documentation.
- Attendance providing support during the multidisciplinary design and safety reviews, such as HAZID, 3D models reviews.
- Coordination with other disciplines and departments to clarify issues and define placement of nozzles/connections, support, platforms, electrical needs, etc.
- Interaction with clients, designers and vendors on technical solutions.
- Review and comment on technical information provided by clients, designers, vendors, subcontractors, etc.
- Coordination of the design approval with international bodies, such as Class Society, local authorities, etc.
- Provide support to the Marine Renewables Unit Director in non-project-based activities such as procedures, design guides, resource planning, budgeting, recruitment etc., to ensure the continuously improve and optimize the operation of the Unit.
What do you need to join the team?
- M.Sc. or PhD in Mechanical Engineering- Preferably experience in bottom fixed and floating offshore wind projects, respectively relevant M.Sc./PhD thesis.
- A minimum of 7-10 years (Senior) / 10 years (Chief) professional experience in Mechanical Engineering department defining and selecting mechanical equipment preferably in EPC projects related to offshore wind, offshore O&G, shipbuilding or other relevant industry.
- English level: Minimum B2
- Experience working in a discipline leadership role overseeing the mechanical equipment engineering work: tasks definition and planning, status reports, etc.
- Profound knowledge about design, codes and standards related to pressure vessels, static equipment and rotating equipment,
- Knowledge about the related international engineering legislation, e.g. Machinery Directive, CE Marking, ASME, ASTM, API, ATEX etc.
- Knowledge on the certification of the mechanical design.
- Knowledge and experience in softwares and tools such as: AutoCAD 2D y 3D, AVEVA E3D, Office 365 (Excel, Word, Power Point…), Adobe Acrobat.
You will also have to be able to…
- Effectively prioritize multiple tasks and make independent decisions that promote / advance company goals and objectives.
- Have good communication skills in English and capable to discuss technical matters and engage with Clients.
